Event Overview
Today, applications are being developed faster, better and cheaper, thanks to the newly emerged practice of DevOps, Cloud infrastructure and Agile methodologies. With the overall shift towards continuous delivery, continuous testing is even more relevant and challenging. Test Automation has become central to this theme.
In this breakfast session, you will hear three experts engage in conversation about best practices in test automation. The Q&A will give you the chance to ask questions and engage in a dialogue. Our goal is for you to leave with some solid Do’s and Don’ts to implement in your testing organization.

Panelist Bios
Lawrence Tam has over 15 years of product development experience, focusing on quality assurance and product delivery. He is currently the Senior Manager of Product Quality at Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company. He is responsible for the quality and timely delivery of a diverse spectrum of Avigilon products in Software, Hardware and Cloud. Along with his team, Lawrence has deployed a comprehensive test and integration strategy to face the challenge of an ever-growing ecosystem of products and projects. Previously, Lawrence worked extensively in the Telecom industry with Ericsson and Redback Networks.
Stuart Ashman is an experienced Director of Quality Assurance with a demonstrated history of improving quality, practice and process across a variety of business domains. He has worked with Vision Critical, Joyent, Sophos, Sun Microsystems and Motorola, and is currently the Director of QA at PAI Health. Stuart has helped companies, teams and individuals work more efficiently and effectively by improving the quality of everything they do.
Stuart has experience in agile and lean methodologies, and he has shaped teams to get them working well and consistently delivering high quality products. He is a strong quality assurance professional, skilled in Test Management, Test Automation, Test Planning, Regression Testing and Continuous Integration.
Larry Ng has 18 years of experience in a wide variety of industries, including Business Objects, Electronic Arts, DHL, Mattel, Nokia, Boeing, Safeway, Tribal DDB, BCLC, WorksafeBC, BC Hydro, Coast Capital and Lululemon, as well as various startups. He specializes in managing and building test engineering & automation, CI/CD automation, and performance/load testing capability for engineering teams. Larry has solid knowledge and hands-on skills with AWS cloud computing, automated deployment technologies, REST API, Lambda and Kinesis test automation, and data quality test engineering. He is also an extensive Product Owner and has ScrumMaster experience in SCRUM.
Larry is passionate about shipping high quality software, building and mentoring technical test teams, and connecting with the tech community to share experience and knowledge. He has deep experience in transforming engineering teams, from custom-development to product-focused.
Pankaj Agarwal has over two decades of experience working in the technology outsourcing industry. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Optimus Information Inc., a leading provider of technology services to mid- and large-size organizations across Western Canada. Prior to founding Optimus Information Inc., Pankaj was a member of the Executive Committee at Sopra Group (a $2 Billion IT consulting company in Europe) and CEO at Momentum Technologies Inc.
Pankaj is active in the local technology community. He is on the Board of Directors for Science World, and is past-president and board member of TiE, Vancouver (The Indus Entrepreneurs), the world’s leading entrepreneurship organization. Pankaj has also served on the Board of BCTIA, BC’s leading technology association.
